Fun German bar. Great German beer selection although getting expensive due to the Euro. I was recently there for Oktoberfest and had a great time in the tent and then downstairs where our group passed 5 boots around. Had so much fun I decided to get my own boot. They wouldn't sell me one there that night and I just found one of the 2 liter Das Boots at www.bierboothaus.com

Gasthof isn't for everyone, but you'll probably drink so much that you won't care. .5L is $4.50, and 1L is $9.00 - that's pricey. The beer selection is good, although mostly German (obviously). The waitresses come around with apple flavored liquor shots which are great, but horribly overpriced. They also come around with mint scented/flavored snuff, which seems like a fantastic idea when you're loaded, but the worst idea you've ever had when you're blowing your nose the next morning. The clientele is very mixed, but it invariably gets overcrowded as the night goes on. Overall, it's hard not to have a great time there unless you aren't drinking alot.

Loved the food and beer. Downstairs in the bar, it was fun until about 9:30 or so when the sloppy drunk, chainsmoking college kids overran the place, making it impossible to dance, breath, or appreciate the music.

It's not possible to have a bad time here! Granted, it's not cheap, but what IS in this town!? The beer's good and plentiful; likewise the food and the waitresses are overworked but thoughtful-on my last visit I was presented with a free dessert to make up for slow service that I thought was fine! small token, but it's the little things that leave lasting impressions. Thanks. When you've had your fill, grab a snuff and head downstairs for more. yeah, the food's a little vanilla, but it's still good and plentiful. just reach for the boot and wash it down!

All I can say is call the Taxi ahead of time. Last time we went, I woke up the next morning confused, still drunk, and bleeding from my forearms from falling on glass the previous night. In my book, THAT's a fun night!
